Not drying at all. However, if your lips are cracked and dry to begin with, it would highlight that dryness as it is matte. The only other downside is that it doesn't stay on for hours as other people may say. It does transfer a bit, especially if you eat.
Cons: you MUST let the stain set to expect it to last. Once set without touching your lips together, it'll last through eating, drinking, smoking,...is a bit transferable with kissing.
I didn't notice a smell. If anything it just smells like an unscented cosmetic. There's no fake cupcake smell or flavor, if that's something you like, opt for a scented stain.
First photo: just after applying in the morning, and then blotting once. It’s sort of like a hybrid between a matte liquid lipstick and a lip stain, but it doesn’t have the really drying effect that most matte liquid lipsticks seem to have. What I really liked is that it covered up some areas on my lips that were still recovering from dry winter peeling.
Second photo: after drinking a Starbucks latte. Slightly faded, but still plenty of color.
Third photo: after eating lunch - again, a little bit bit more faded, but still lots of color
Fourth photo: 6 PM and the end of my workday. Pretty impressive! Note that I had not touched up the color at all during the day.
OVERALL, a 4/5: ONLY minus 1 star because of personal preference (color is basically the exact SAME color as my own lips, even though I thought it definitely looked MORE darker in the picture & even in my pics) & purchasing online as opposed to in person & the ability to swatch! I thought THIS particular color was going to look more "pink", brighter, NOT a bright pink, but not such a neutral color either! I just honestly didn't think it was going to be THAT neutral! But, with my Thrive Cosmetics Lip Liner in brown (or any color for that matter) worn underneath this color, it DEFINITELY makes it work! I can also add any lip gloss or topper or even a creamy, moisturizing bullet lipstick as well to either change the color or finish! Overall, I do recommend this product & brand! Beautiful range of colors & comfortable formula!
This is like a whipped texture and works very well. It fades but I like it. I tried getting different colors since there’s a lot of similar shades.
The photo I attached is 4+ hrs after application and blotting on dry, cracked old lady lips, then a light lip balm coating. Be sure to use on exfoliated, moisturized lips, though, for best mileage. I'll try other colors, as this is a good lip "ink" for me.
2nd pic, i repeated and it was darker, was a little dry but not unbearably dry. I swiped some EOS lip balm across it (no transfer came off) and done!
I don’t have anything to compare it to except for maybe the Revelon Lip Stain stick… bit its a go.
Although, should i be concerned it didn’t come in a box like some of the other pics showed under the ‘air’ velvet from another vendor tho. Hmmm…
This color is a middle ground between a rosy pink and a subtle nude, it looks great against my fair skin. This gives my lips a hint of color without seeming unnatural, and as a result, they look larger and more defined.
This lip tint is unlike any other I've tried because of its unique formula. I feel like I'm not wearing any lipstick at all since it applies effortlessly and sits lightly on my lips.
In addition, I haven't had any irritation or dryness from using this lip color. I like that it applies evenly and doesn't highlight dry areas or settle into small wrinkles.
The feel of it is really nice, kind of like a lipgloss but not as slippery. I’m not sure about longevity though since I just got it today.
The applicator works really well and the product smells really good too. Idk how to describe it other than slightly fruity.
These are so great, it looks nice, classy, natural. Wish it would last through food though, as I don’t carry makeup with me. It is, after all, only a tiny, and performs better than I expected. Recommend for low key looks.
I don't think I'd wear this color freshly applied without wiping it off because it is SO pigmented, but I love the look once it's been wiped off and glossed or moisturized. I will definitely buy it again in a softer shade too!
I do, however, love it as a blush. It is the perfect shade and applies well as a liquid blush. In the pic, I applied it to both my lips and as a blush. Just beware if you use it as a blush go sparingly as it is pigmented. I do 1 dot on each cheek and blend. I also do one cheek at a time because it seems the longer you wait the harder it is to blend out. I love a good liquid/crème blush. My last go to blush was the Benefit benetint liquid cheek stains but they are $20+… this works just as well and is cheaper plus it give a nice natural flush look :)
Overall. I think it is very pretty and will probably buy it again when I run out as it has become my go to blush
The packaging Is unique, and I really like it. I will be ordering more colors!
I am a constant lip licker, and that doesn't even phase the color in the slightest. It takes a lot to make it wear off, even eating and drinking does nothing against it. Sure you'll see it on your straw after drinking, but the color is just as strong as the first application. And even when it DOES fade, the color is still noticeable.
My only bad thought about it is the fact that they don't have more oranges in their Amazon collection. But overall, it's great.
Anyway the color probably lasts around 2-4 hours. Not the best but it’s ok if you like reapplying. I love the packaging. It’s soft and “velvety” feeling with slight hits of nostalgia.
I feel a lot of happiness using this product and kinda want to buy more. Probably it’s the “I’ve been wanting this product for a while” feeling
Short story long: Ok, I'll be honest- I don't have very high standards when it comes to lipsticks/glosses. I wear it very rarely, but it's fun and adds that special something when I'm feeling frisky. I should start by saying I AM DRY. My skin is like the Sahara desert, lips included. Unfortunately I don't like lipsticks that aren't matte because they smudge and require reapplication every 5 minutes and that's just too much energy. Anyway, I wasn't expecting to be wowed or blown away...but I. AM. BLOWN. AWAY.
The colors are cute yea but the formula is crazy!! It is SO soft, nearly smudge proof (not immediately of course), and fades beautifully! It transfers, yes. But by the end of meal/drink/evening, the color is not only still there (faded) but it's NOT PATCHY. I don't have this crazy ugly cracked rim of color surrounded my very flesh colored lips. The whole lip is still covered with color. I was shocked. It's a little drying but far less than anything other matte lip I've tried. I'm even impressed by the dang applicator (one word: p r e c i s i o n). Just..wow. So yea. Highly recommend from a non-picky makeup person's perspective.
