Great price for an everyday tint and beginner friendly. Recommended for new k-beauty lovers.
Also, worth mentioning is that the color is buildable which is totally nice. It's easy to see why this is many Korean actor's favorite. So impressed with this magic in a tube! Get it!!
The only issue I have with it is that it claims to be lip plumping but it definitely isn't. It does little to nothing in that department but if you're like me and you just wanted a subtle lip tint, you've found the perfect one.
Texture: glossy (gentle glossy finish) I I would probably layer another clear gloss on top for more gloss
Stain: yes, very lightly slightly.
Staying power: it’s a gloss so it naturally has small staying power— it’s meant to be applied again and again
Pigmented?: it’s sheer product, for more color I would try to layer more— the photo shows like one layer(first pullout of the applicator I would say) on both lips. It comes through with a tint of soft caramel brown on top of my natural lips.
This product is actually almost the same shade as the discontinued? E.l.f. Lip shine core shade Blissful. It looks a little more pigmented on the swatch unless you blend it out— which then looks nearly the same on my lips. The only difference is the texture feel— this Peripera Mood is a non sticky subtle gloss that hugs the lips. Blissful from E.l.f. was a buttery-melting-type of lip gloss balm with more shine but takes a lot more work to get the pigment to show. Color payoff is super similar.
Overall solid subtle k-beauty lightweight gloss, the shade is a pretty sheer orangey-caramel-brown. The only thing I felt a little eh- it’s okay— was the applicator. I wonder when I start to get to the bottom of the bottle— well I struggle to get product out. But only time will tell!
I actually love it. I haven't wear it yet, so not sure will it dry my lips, but it doesn't have the sticky feel on my lips.
The color stays on my hand (the color tested part), even I use a regular wipes to wipe it out. So I assume it stays on lips pretty good.
The place where this shines over my favorite of the three (Lovb bomb) is the the packaging is designed much better. The applicator is a little floppy but overall it doesn’t make a mess around the opening as much as the others do which is my biggest annoyance with the others. This matters a lot to me because sometimes/oftentimes I’m kind of in a rush when reapplying or something and added mess can be such a drag to deal with in the car for instance lol.
Edit: this has become my fav of the three. The applicator and the fact it doesn’t leak into the lid is so nice and I didn’t realize how much I’d appreciate those factors in the end.
Bonus! You can layer it! I put on 2-3 coats and it leaves a more obvious, but still soft, look, that can be worn for fancy events or evening wear. Stain is darker, but still quite nice. My new go to!
(For reference, Nooni Appleberry, while also being MLBB, is more watery in application (although easier to apply), and the stain wears off after eating (but lasts for hours otherwise). Revlon Colorstay is more pigmented, but less hydrating. Although it does stain, it seems to stain patchier and leaves that clumpy residue on the inner lips. Nyx Epic color dye isn't moisturizing, but will never come off; I had to use a toothbrush and even then I couldn't get it all off. The chubby colored pencils from Revlon and Neutrogena aren't as moisturizing, but very pigmented. Maybelline superstay is very pigmented, but not that moisturizing even w the balm, and leaves my dry lips looking feathery. Stain is decent).
I’m a lip product person, neutral undertone skin, and I’m light skin (winter time) to light medium (summer time), and have naturally dull lip color.
I despise lip products that are light medium sticky to full on sticky!
No need to prep lips before applying and doesn’t stick only to dry parts of the lips unless you’re super crusty like you’ve never drank water for days, than would recommend.
Price point is awesome for the superior formula!
The formula is not sticky and feels like a moisturizing lip balm to gloss depending on on much you put on. It does have some staining to the lips but obviously with eating/drinking it will come off. It is easy to apply without a mirror if you needed to touch up.
There’s a slight sweet smell but it’s not off putting and does go away once it’s sat on the lips.
The color looks way better once it has sunk into the lips plus looks super natural and moisturized.
It is buildable if you wanted a more intense color.
The lip product also has an expiration date printed at the bottom label which is a plus!
Works better than any high end lip products that I’ve ever bought.
Highly recommend and looking to buy more colors!
*I have attached photos of the product on only one half of my lip and my other lip is just natural and no chapstick or lip products on it.
Than another pic in full lip product.
The initial application has a nice shine to it, but that shine fades into a dewy glow, which I think is quite nice. It dries quickly and once it's dry there's no transfer. You can also apply lip gloss/lip balm over it with no issues, which is helpful.
Some things to keep in mind:
- The photo I attached shows the tint after one application.
- For bolder color, apply one coat, wait about two minutes for it to dry a little, and apply another. A third can be applied for even more pigment.
- For more subtle color, dab a little in the middle of your lips, where your bottom lip meets your top lip. Then use your fingertip to spread the color from the center, using a light tapping motion to blend it.
- Because the product ultimately just tints your lips and doesn't add an intense smoothing texture like lipstick or lip gloss does, I recommend trying an overnight lip mask to keep your lips soft and even. I highly recommend Wet & Wild's "lavender sleeping lip mask" for this. (Seriously, a game changer. Affordable and one of the best lip hydration products on the market, in my humble opinion.)
